Tonight, the South East section of Home Guards Naval arm have laid anti-submarine lanes across the Channel with the help  of La résistance française.

It is all to easy to become insular, but it is vital that international cooperation like this continues if we are to overcome the shaper hordes.

Things don't always go your way, Manchester is a perfect case in point for the Home Guard. But when you choose to resist, you do it knowing the odds are against you and the fight will be long.

We are incredibly proud of everyone that picked themselves up, dusted themselves down, and arrived in London ready for revenge. And what sweet revenge it was to.

Thank you all, whatever your rank, whatever your role - the victory in London was a true team effort and you all did incredibly well.

The naval arm of the Home Guard have been on artifact alert for a while now, but with them moving to the southern hemisphere it's time to reactivate Operation Coastal Defence!



What a triumphant return to action it was, with a four layered safety shard, with nearly 2 Million mermaids protected.

If you have only been paying half attention to the Intel map you could be forgiven for thinking Sheffield has enjoyed 24hours of Blue Skies.
If you have been paying no attention, or have a short memory span, you could be forgiven for being confused.

Either way, the truth is that the troops involved in last night's manoeuvres decided to push their luck and repeat the operation. This time they were even more successful, having added additional layers of protection.

The 14th September may will be a very special day for a newly promoted Level 8 Soldier from Sheffield, it will long be remembered as the day they joined the 100K Club.

The operation had been a few weeks in planning initially between Kierkergard, MellKerrigan, Desperate & Sming but as it escalated then more people were brought on board. Several times it looked good to go, but Resources were spread thin defending key areas so the date was set for Sunday 14 September.

This also presented opportunity to initiate another of the newer level 8 soldiers - Cadair asked to be included in the operation when we sought out mobile agents to assist. The plan was set, the personnel was in place. It was time to initiate and move out into the field.

Pre planning took place on Saturday, and Intel - Led this time by Pankomputerek with support from (Not So) CluelessSmurf right until deployment where Pankomputerek stepped up and conducted his
orchestra of blue fields into play.

Just as the op was about to go into full flow we lost a key body.. Desperate was called away on urgent personal admin and we had to reorganise the field agents very quickly. Thankfully Sgt Desperate and family are all fine and the smurflet didn't arrive today!

With keys in place and the troops rolling out to start clearing the blocking links, things were going relatively well right until the first field was dropped in.. Blocking links were removed by Kierkergard, Sming and MellKerrigan then Dingus01 and Sming laid down the foundations allowing Cadair to bring it home to step up into the 100k+ fielding club with the first field in place for 278,910 mind units to be protected... only for this to be thwarted almost instantly by the invaders!

Enemy agent SoX was practically metres from the field anchor as it deployed and it lasted but only minutes before it was removed, we were anxious that the operation was in total jeopardy but Intel continued with the plan leaving SoX to be monitored from afar.

Whatever you want to call it, a deity or ADA, someone was looking out for us as enemy agent SoX left the area and the opertation continued unhindered from the enemy depsite more enemy agents being within seconds of key portals, but they did not intervene! we moved up a gear and got on with the remaining fields

The next fields shot up, covering more and more minds with their protection - Sming fielded for 283,260 mind units closely followed by Dingus01 with a 283,690 mind field. Then disaster struck when a soldier not on operational duty dropped a local link in his area only 5 metres long which critically blocked the operation from continuing!

Rapid comms were made to request they undo their work. This took a little time and left all involved in the operation feeling tense that it was dead in the water.. This did allow for a small amount of fine tuning, and meant Cadair was able to return to an anchor to gain a vital key for the final step of the operation

Whilst the main operation waited anxiously to proceed, a side op that was only hatched hours earlier between Kierkergard and MellKerrigan, took place. One of the blocking portals was put to good use and a side field created by MellKerrigan protected around 64,000 minds.

The blocker was removed as well as an additional enemy blocker that cropped up causing Intel to draft in Cpl ToKillaTwiinke. The final field put into play by Sming, for 300,762 minds, and the operation was complete.

The UK is bathed in a wondrous blue glow tonight.



We would like to thank our international allies for helping to defend the UK from the alien onslaught. We should also add or congratulations for an impressive pan-European operation utilising the strength and knowledge of many troops from numerous nations!

Now, we aren't ones to gloat here at Home Guard... But this seems much more impressive than last night's green burrito.

Congratulations to SgtMjr Herbius on topping your local Cell, a nice reward for a good days work!
A nice bike ride through Blackfen resulted in 8 nested fields, based off a portal a stone's throw from an enemy barracks.

The largest protection field was 11,410 MU and the total was around 50K.

Unfortunately one layer got taken down before a screenshot could be obtained, but this is still a lovely image.

All 40 Artifacts are in the wild, and there are three Helios battles remaining. The fight, for this series at least, is nearly over!

So how is the fight looking?
In a word, Good!
So good even Yoda has changed colour!

The resistance has taken the lead, with the current score standing at 29 to 20, but it isn't time to relax! There is still a lot of work to be done and plenty to fight for!

They have shown the fighting spirit that is in all of us!

Sometimes, when the weather is right, you can see beautiful lights on the sky over the northern parts of the UK... Other times we have to make the lights ourselves!

Nobody said standing up for your beliefs would be easy. We are under constant attacks, but while there is a threat to humanity there will be a Resistance.

We don't do it for glory, we do it because it is right - but sometimes, every now and then, we get to relax after a job well done, safe in the knowledge we have saved minds!

Well done to the troops involved in protecting the minds of so many, and creating a significant barrier making north/south transit more difficult for the Shapers.

One thing is for sure, it ain't grim up north tonight!

Once again we have woken to the news of Artifact Manoeuvres in the Dark. With the help of some Russian Smurf escorts artifacts 17 and 18 have been successfully sent along a link, and secured for our future.


Congratulations to our international allies on capturing a further two Artifacts, bringing the Resistance total to a healthy Ten!
It took hard work and cooperation between Russia, India and Nepal, but we now lead the alien invaders 10 artifacts to 3.

”Imber is an uninhabited village in part of the British Army's training grounds on the Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire, England. It is situated in an isolated area of the Plain, about 2.5 miles (4 km) west of the A360 road between Tilshead and West Lavington. The entire civilian population was evicted in 1943 to provide an exercise area for American troops preparing for the invasion of Europe during the Second World War. After the war, villagers were not allowed to return to their homes. The village, which is still classed as a civil parish, remains under the control of the Ministry of Defence despite several attempts by former residents to return. Non-military access is limited to several open days a year.” Wikipedia

It is on these open days that agents travel from far and wide to fight for control of the two portals found there. Tuesday, 2 September was such a day.


Both factions arrived around 07:00 and began setting up their equipment, for mobile phone signal is as scarce as Imber residents. The Resistance opted for a high-powered, line-of-sight directional Wifi device with one unit up on a hill, overlooking the valley town, beaming in data with the bright morning sun. The Enlightened used a quadrocopter carrying a payload of a 3g mobile Wifi AP.

Resistance agents got set up and immediately sprung into action, employing ADA refractors to claim both portals at 07:45 and 07:46. By 07:50 they had reinforced the portals with upgraded resonators.

With a loud buzz breaking the morning chorus of songbirds, the Enlightened drone shot up into the blue yonder, lighting up the green scanners below and the battle commenced.  The Enlightened focused their attack on St Giles’ Church, capturing it around 08:10.

Then it was the turn of the Resistance to attack and attempt to regain control of the 13th century church, but it withstood a solid barrage of xmp for more than 20 minutes and held firm. Enlightened agents then split up to initiate an attack on the blue portal of the war memorial and the focus of the battle shifted as Resistance hurried to defend.

After portal virus immunity ended, an Enlightened agent used a Jarvis virus to capture the War Memorial and a Resistance agent retaliated by reversing the alignment of the church.

The MOD warden arrived to move the agents out of the tank shooting range as time was long over and the battle was a stalemate! Perhaps a cross faction agreed end time for the next mini-anomaly might help? It would be a shame to overstay your welcome once too many times and put future battles at risk!

It was a ferocious battle, with agents on the ground destroying nearly 800 resonators and deploying as many in the space of an hour. Well done to all who took part this time around.
